Summer on the Arlberg

The trail network around St. Anton comprises more than 400 kilometres. In the Verwall valley you walk on wide paths towards Lake Verwall. At higher altitudes, trails lead over the Rendl, Galzig and to huts around the Arlberg.

Verwall Valley
The entrance to the Verwall valley is close to Haus Steissbach. The valley is ideal for walks, hikes and bike tours. Around Lake Verwall there are trails and spots for a break.
Mountain bike and e-bike
Forest roads and designated routes lead through the Verwall valley and into the surrounding mountains. With an e-bike, longer climbs can be paced more evenly. You will find current routes and closures in the region's interactive map.
Road cycling
St. Anton lies between the Arlberg pass and the Stanzertal. From here, longer road-cycling routes lead towards Vorarlberg, the Silvretta, the Hahntennjoch and the Kaunertal. Distance and elevation vary greatly, so the route should be planned in advance.
Summer lifts
The mountain lifts take hikers and families to higher altitudes. Operating hours and open facilities change during the season. You will find current times at Ski Arlberg.
With children
For families there are easy trails and themed offers. The detective trail, for example, leads across 17 stations through St. Anton. The loop is about five kilometres long and takes around three hours. In the Verwall valley, short walks, breaks by the water and a bike tour combine well.
Bad weather? No problem.
When it rains, the Arlberg WellCom, the St. Anton museum or a trip to the villages of the Stanzertal are good options. It is best to check opening hours and rest days in advance.
